Washington County played an important role in shaping New York State.  A few interesting History facts about Washington County: “one” of the birthplaces of the United States Navy, considered the “spiritual home” US Rangers, Solomon Northup story – made into an Oscar winning movie has roots here, as does Susan B. Anthony whose childhood home from when she was about 6years old, – Childhood home and Underground Railroad hero’s Henry Holmes and William H. and Angelina Mowry.

Yep, we got it with Farmers' Markets, U-Picks, Road Side Stands and CSA's bursting with delicious wholesome goodness.  The Battenkill Kitchen and Agricultural Stewardship Association offers classes and programs from bread baking to preserving.  Celebrate agriculture with us in August at the Washington County Fair.
